FAQ

Booking & Payment

Is my card charged right away?

No — your card isn’t charged until your spot is confirmed. You’ll get a confirmation email within seconds of booking.

Can I pay with SINPE Móvil?

Yes, for guests paying from a Costa Rican bank account. International cards are also accepted through our secure checkout.

What’s included in the $109 price?

Park entrance, a bilingual guide, life jackets, insurance, water and fruit — plus [PENDING: second differentiator to confirm]. Nothing else is added at the dock.

Whales & Seasons

When are whales most likely?

December–April (North Pacific population) and July–October (South Pacific population). See our full month-by-month calendar on the tour page.

What if I’m visiting outside whale season?

Dolphins show up almost every trip year-round. Outside whale season, the tour still includes the Whale Tail sandbar and either snorkeling (dry season) or open swim time (rainy season). Learn more about the Whale Tail →

What if we don’t see any whales during whale season?

[PENDING: confirm the real policy — is anything offered, or is this communicated strictly as a probability, not a guarantee?]

Logistics & Safety

What are the park hours and entrance fee?

Marino Ballena National Park is open 7:00 AM–6:00 PM daily. Entrance is included in the tour price; card/debit only if visiting independently.

Is it safe for kids or seniors?

Yes — message us on WhatsApp before booking if anyone in your group needs extra space, shade, or a slower pace getting on and off the boat.

What should I bring?

Reef-safe sunscreen, a change of clothes, a waterproof bag for your phone, and a swimsuit. Lunch isn’t included — bring your own if you plan to stay in the park after the tour.

Cancellation

What’s the cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 1 week before your tour. Changes at no cost up to 24 hours before. If weather cancels the tour, we rebook or refund in full.

What if the sea doesn’t allow the cave visit?

The cave visit depends on conditions that day — sometimes the ocean says no, and we’re not going to pretend otherwise. The whale/dolphin search, the Whale Tail, and the park itself are never weather-dependent.
